Well, we figured out what's causing my vertigo

I dont know if i've posted on here before about my vertigo or not, my minds about scrambled. Long and short of what vertigo is, to put it in redneck terms (only ones i understand hahaha) It feels like youre walkin on yer lips drunk. Minus all the fun of it. Just the dizzy, heavy headed feeling. It happens randomly, and stays for a couple weeks, totally making you worthless.

    ANYWAY

About 6 months ago, i got a clog in my left ear. Too much ear wax. Gross, i know, lol. Well me and pops decided to fix it our selves. Laid on my side, put hydrogen peroxide in my ear to help loosin in. Then, pops took a turkey baster and sucked it out. We repeated this process about 5 times.

Well i just got back from the Doctors office. Told them what we did a while back. Doc said that because of us doing that, it damaged my ear drum and put "water on my ear". The vertigo is happening because when pops "sucked" with the baster, i guess it moved the crystals around in my inner ear. And randomly theyll jump out of place, making me dizzy. That, plus the water on my ear makes for a helluva experience.

Anyway, i know this dont have chit to do with scrappin, thats why i put er in the off topic area. I was just excited to know that i dont have brain cancer or somethin crazy like that haha.

The image of you getting your ear cleaned out with a huge ass turkey baster is priceless. On an another note why didnt you just roll over and let it drain out?

Hahahahahahahahaha Dune, no kidding. Well, we thought that if he used the turkey baster, it would "suck out the clog, too".

    Yeah.....

Idaho, dont ya love my redneck terms? lmao.

Nope, theirs really not. Their is a maneuver you can do. Basically tilt your head all around in different positions to help the crystals line up like they're supposed too. My last vertigo episode i did that. Didnt do anything.

So now, i'm just on a straight Dramamine diet. Dramamine helps with the nausea because of the dizzyness.

Wow! Pretty wild story. I use those murine ear wax removal systems every once in a while.

about 20 years ago or so, I was driving into work and was cleaning my ears the way I normally do. With a rolled up napkin or whatever is handy twisted up, inserted and spin a little. Well, all of a sudden I could barely hear out of my left ear. I worked all day and bought one of those murine things on my way home.

Tried it out and after the third time, a very large chunk of wax fell out of my ear and landed in the sink that I had dislodged and had been laying against my eardrum effectively dampening any vibrations in that ear.

Boy was I happy to say the least.

After a day of 10% hearing in one ear, I learned to take care of my ears a lot more. Even down to using earplugs when creating massive amounts of dust or noise. I even would wear them when using the riding lawnmower, but especially with the chain saw or anything else really loud.

Your ears are very important. Not just for hearing, but for balance as well as stated above. Take care of them. The damage acumulates over time and is never on a noticeable scale until it is too late.

I was recommended to use the 50-50% peroxide and warm water, put it in your ear and let it set for about 20 min. then tilt the head and let it drain. It helped me when I was having dizzy spells. But I didn't try to suck my brains out, LOL

we use peroxide for any ear infections our kids get, every 3 hours until it stops bubbling and in one day the infection is gone. But sucking it out man! did that hurt or anything?
