Thumbs down When is a thief NOT a thief....?

    Answer...NEVER!!!

Lately a few of the members have been talking about, stealing. I think it is horrible, and I hope the thieves get caught and punished.

Do you know what I think is worse than a junkie taking your stuff? A piece of garbage Yard Owner/or worker that rips off his customers and hides behind the reasoning, it's just doing business. Do people really think that if the person selling metal is inexperienced, than it's ok to steal their money? Stealing is stealing, thieves are thieves.

In my opinion I think the people doing this should line up with the junkies and tweakers, cause they are no better. Maybe even a bit worse, for christ sakes times are tough enough!

    WHAT DOES EVERYONE ELSE THINK???

The only way a thief will learn there lesson is when another thief steals from them.

This is what makes this forum work...the overall desire to be seen as a business...honest and in sight. If you take opportunity away, there is not much left for a thief to live on. Thanks Easy!

There are a lot of ways to steal. If your yard accidently overpays you and you see it and take it and run, that makes you a thief too. Being honest is like being pregnant, you either are or you're not.

On the other hand, if you point it out to them.........

The bigger companys (Sims etc) are not going to cheat you out of $. It's not worth it for them. They make money by turnover & their markup margin.
If you bring in something that can be broken down or such, they will tell you how to make it worth more, that way they make more money as their markup margin is now higher because its worth more. Simple.

They can't have employees running around breaking down things to make more $, that means they are not working in the yard & the chance of a accident jumps, like 1000%.

Just about a month ago. I had a guy bring me what looked to be a fairly new computer in as scrap. Here in Ky we have to scan thier drivers license and such. well I put the tower up and inquired to the state police. Turns out he had stolen it from his own mother. All to buy crap for his habbits. He was arested she got her computer back and i got screwed outta the 5 bucks. All in all worth it cause i feel better being an honest man.

The mom should have paid the 5 bucks, and then gone and beat it out of her son.
