    Ok...I found something totally awesome!

I was Digging into one of my CPU boxes to see what from what and get them where they need to go (have in and out side) so this way everything is checked to make sure if its worth something or not. But anyway...I came across something that has now entered into my private collection of computer things....very few items ever go into my collection because I have seen it all and have had some really cool things but...sold it as scrap..this I have to keep....

Its a 775 socket CPU that is

Intel CONFIDENTIAL QUQD ES Costa Rica

What this means is a engineering sample and the cpu has no locks on it so I can program it to do so many things and its...just plain cool. Called up two good friends of mine, one thats high up in Force10 Networks (have another pick up from them soon..always get cool things) but he told me its rare that I have it as it should never left the lab whole as they should be sent back to Intel, locked way in some safe or "killed" and never get out side, shocked about hearing this and..just wanting to check that info out I called another friend and he told me they should not of left the lab but there are some people who will sneak them out and sell them on the market as people want them for both use because they are unlocked or for collecting. I wanted to see how rare, rare is...come to find out there are some cpus up for sale on ebay and some more than others and doing some looking around that mine is worth around 100 bucks...but its still rare and still cool (mind you I found it..did not buy it)

Now me and the 2ed guy who I had called....we are itching on finding out if this thing works...and if it works what we can do to it..so we are going to start trying to find some parts and build a system to mess with it and try not to kill it lmao

Just wanted to share a cool find as this is something I have not see before.

Lol...before I scraped computers I repaired them and made them. Hell i started working on computers when I like 12 or so years old (I was home schooled and I had a old computer) and my mother and father where to cheap(?) to buy me a new one so...when I saw a computer on the side of the road or out by the trash I would bring it home and try to fit it (killed it a few times...then it was for parts) or just get a few parts from them.

I would solder or de-solder the board and replace caps and chips that I would take from other boards and so on...so yea...not to shocking that I now recycle them lmao.....do want to get back to fixing and repairing them. I have build a test station now so I am now testing some 300 sticks of memory 512 and bigger (ddr and ddr2 and ECC memory) along with hard drives, cds and blah blah blah

We have a small pile of those confidential CPUs in a variety of languages... more than likely will turn them into art pieces of some sort.

Glad to know I'm not the only one that has a tendency to put the cool stuff aside. I'm really bad for collecting stuff that was around during my teenage years when my nerdiness was at its height. I'll try and post some pics sometime, hopefully you guys could too, I love seeing that old rare stuff.
