    Yes, at least in the 90s and their talent really showed on MTV unplugged with Staley an Cantrell's harmonies. They wrote lyrics that I could relate to most definitely.

    Alice in chains are pretty killer, but I would have to go with Pantera or Slayer

    while I like Pantera and Slayer I dont think the talent quite matches up in the singing department

    I do like pantera and they are up there among my faves but AIC is still the most incredible band....25 years later I still listen to their first album and am amazed at how good these guys were....I actually saw Jerry Cantrell live many years later and he was incredible as a solo act....
