    Snow Day?

Well the good news was I won some large lights at auction today(online) now the bad...with a storm moving in the area and about an inch of snow on the ground, schools in Denver Metro are already calling snow day, so pick up tomorrow(it's a school) is not looking good. My Grandfather is rolling over in his grave right now up in Minneapolis, I can count on one finger the snow days we had growing up there.

LOL im hoping we get the 12 inches plus they are calling for. Snow day as a mailman would be nice to get. Then i could spend the free day doing breakdowns out in the shed. I wont hold my breath though. I think management likes to make us walk in knee deep snow while they sit on their arse in the office and complain were not going fast enuff.

You get mail called off for snow depth? I carried in Omaha and mail only got called off if the temp was -70F for more than five continuous minutes.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

One day each for two years in a row. Mid 80s, I forget which years exactly.

Maybe it was wind chill - I forget the particulars. I just remember it was d----- cold when they came around and told us to go in.

Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night, stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.

Although, I guess it really doesn't mention the need to break down scrap...

They base it of safty concernes now. If its not safe and your getting stuck every other block with your truck they call it a day and send you home. Oh well off to work I go. wish I could take the snowmobile to work.

Well I guess they were right to call school off yesterday as we did get hammered pretty good. Dug out in the am to go to Fedex and there was well over a foot in the drive. Passed by several mail trucks and and was feeling for PTS and to think he gets to do it all over again today. Dude, I hope your wife has hid anything that could get you into trouble at work, we wouldn't want to see you on the news.

LOL yeah was a 12 hour day yesterday and I only got half my route done. Of course they made me do 2 hours on another route that took me 3 hours. So needless to say today will be another long day.

We got nailed pretty good out here in the corner, too. Usually, the mountain storms that blanket Denver and the front range run out of snow by the time they get out here.
