    pictures in youtube videos

For those of you who put pictures in youtube videos, what is the best file format that you have found to use?

The photos I have saved for scrap metal, junk, and electronic recycling all look good, but if put in video, some don't look all that good. Thinking, it might be the file extension possibly.

The problem isn't the extensions, its the resolution of the picture. The higher the resolution the clearer the picture. If your pulling pictures from the internet, chances are the pictures are a low resilution to save space, usually around 72 dpi . It may look ok but if you try to resize it will look fuzzy. Try using big pictures and scale them down instead of using small pictures and scaling them up.

Take the pic yourself or follow CMHN's advise above.

You may be able to, I know that there is a free program called Gimp that is kinda like photo shop. I use it and you can scale the resolution up.

But you are only increasing the resolution that that size of image, if size is to small you will still need to increase the size and that is where the problem comes in. Raster images get blurry when you make them bigger.

The best bet is to start with a large image and scale it down to suit your needs, when you scale an image down it wont get blurry.

    CMHN:

Yeah, it makes sense for what you are saying. Never thought about it that way.

Unfortunately, the photos are just ones I grabbed from Google Images, so I am not sure if there is "bigger" images of them or not.

I will check into though for sure.

Are you making a HD or regular format video? HD must have good quality pictures, 150-300 res large pics. A regular video 720 or 640 format you can get away with using large 72 res pictures, when scaled to a smaller size will look good in video.

I have no idea. I use Pinnacle Studio 15 to make them all. Far as I know, it produces it as a normal video.

You can filter your image searches on google to search only for large images.
