In my town, it's perfectly legal to take stuff from the curb. I do it all the time. I walk the quarter mile to my school when it's warm and grab whatever I can carry. I stash it at a friend's house and take it home after school. As for the thing about putting the stickers on large items, I've never had to do that.

There's nothing more fun and more effective than hitting something repeatedly with a sledgehammer

In my town it is legal to take stuff as long as it is on the curb. If it is in the Garbage can or Recycling bin, it is illegal to take and you can be fined.

DumbD i agree with you 110% the next 4 years are going to be the hardest 4 years the USA has ever seen during my lifetime atleast. Ever since 9/11 our country has been falling to pieces. We are suppose to stand together and unite. Instead we are fighting among ourselves. Even our leadership is making us as a country look very bad right now. I wont go into my views on the topic because i cant with out offending 90% of the people here that are arguing because they think there political party is the best. I will say that both parties look like garbage and are doing a disservice to the American people, period. My best advice is hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com
I AM ACTIVELY BUYING ESCRAP OF ALL TYPES. BOARDS, RAM, CPUS AND MUCH MORE

    Angry

Yeah right left it out by the trash, that's total bs if I heard it before . Funny how it's trash til they think someone else may get some use out of it. Bet ya a 20$ it was still out when the trash truck came by, and bet they didn't call the cops for someone taking it then.

I think you guys are all mistaken. I just heard on the news the other day that the economy is really coming back. I'm sure that they must have been telling the truth. You know the pisser? If I don't claim my income from scrounging metal and breaking it down after my day job they will get me for tax evasion. But if I don't work I can file my taxes and get money back in my tax return. How can you get a return if you never put the money in?? They have a strange definition of "Return". I love this country. I love the principles it was founded on. I hate what we have let it become. I pray for Christ's return that is the only thing that will stop our downward spiral.

Of course, I have never seen that many cans in one place on the side of the road. There is a deposit on the cans in some states, so people who collect them are making 3x that or even 6x that by returning them.

If you could spend 5 hours at night collecting cans off the side of the road, you would need to collect 1670 cans to be making minimum wage.
Cans pay significantly more out here in California ($2.00/lb) so virtually every bum does it. The deposit charged at the register (California Redemption Value or CRV) is 5 cents for all containers 23 oz or less and 10 cents if it's 24 oz or more. At 32 '12 oz' cans/lb you're actually making 40 cents a pound recycling them yourself.

with the rise in the economy there has been a rise in jobs. ive been getting tons of daylabor jobs in different places and with some chitchat that means leads on scrap, pallets and cardboards. and then all my friends have been getting labor/warehouse jobs which means even more leads on scrap, pallets and cardboard!

cans in cali, actually come out to like 3.5cents ea at $2/lb

and on the topic of overwhleming scrapping. here in oakland i see tons of pushcarts with like $6 worth of scrap, how the hell do they keep up with those crack habits, holy balls
but god ****, sometimes ill stare into some of those shoppingcart trains getting pushed around and it will literally just be garbage, plastic crt tv shells, a pair of forks off a walmart kids bike, garbage (not scrap) pieces of wood, etc
