That is the Truth of the matter if weighed and measured with honest scales and "rulers".
I have a GREAT understanding of myself. It's others that I'm trying to understand.
A bit like trying to understand creatures from another realm.
Your superstations and rituals are blinding you from seeing and understanding the real and true me.
I can see you and have a basic understanding of you, but I haven't much of a clue as to WHY you choose what you choose on a more deep thinking level.
I'm wondering just WHAT makes you tick simply put.
Me ... i'm just a student of human nature. Always have been. I'm kind of a solitary. I do my best work alone ... not really a team player. I'm fairly good at most anything i choose to set my hand to. I'm currently working with people in service to my community. It seems like an honorable way to finish out the remainder of my adult working life ... even though the job is a rather humble one.
You know ... you work with people long enough ... you develop the ability to size them up pretty quickly. Behavior patterns repeat and people generally fall into different categories. There are times when i'm working with hundreds of people a day. There's nothing new under the sun. None of us are really all that unique although our delusions may have us convinced otherwise.
I take it that people are kind of a mystery for you. It's not so easy for you to relate to others ... so you prefer to keep to yourself ?
It would be all good and well except for the fact that you get kinda lonely sometimes ? I can
see how that could be a problem for someone.
Think about it. What's one of the worst punishments in prison ?
They ship you off to solitary confinement and deprive you of the company of others.
It really is true ... no man is an island.

Okay ... now you said that " it's a bit like trying to understand creatures from another realm."
Have you ever had any cognitive testing done ?
Let's say a fulla was deaf and you tried to describe the sound of music to him. He might be blind and you try to convince him that the sky is the color of blue. In either case ... the fulla just wouldn't be able to relate because the sound of music and the color of blue don't exist for him. It's a cognitive issue.
I've got a friend of over 40 years. Lol ... people have called him ass**** for as long as i've known him and probably long before. He's a great mechanic but he's not very good with people. It's quite possibly due to a high functioning form of autism called Asperger's Syndrome. He's completely lacking in the quality of empathy.
About 80 - 90% of human communication in real life social situations actually takes place on a non-verbal level. We read the cues on a subconscious level. I can certainly see why it would seem like a foreign language if you are deaf -or - blind to the cues. It might be a cognitive thing ... ya know ?
It's no big deal really. Especially if you are relatively happy in your solitary life.
Just food for thought if you are trying to unravel the mystery of why people do what they do.
