You must get plenty of magnetic motor start switches, relays and electric motor thermo protection devices, lots of silver contacts. I would think any relays and such used on a ship would expect other precious metals alloyed with the silver to combat the harsh environment.

Sealed Unit/ AC compressors also have silver contacts that you can take off. plus any tubing on it are mostly copper so easy copper there also.

The silver on most contacts is just plated onto the button, just tumble the buttons and the silver wears off, use a magnet to pick out the iron filings, add the silver powder into a copper melt to make an anode. When you part the copper your silver stays behinds as cell slime's.

From the AC units any silver soldered joints will be a big source of copper for the anode which must be at least 96% copper by weight.

PM me your email and I'll forward a link to my cloud storage for some books I have in digital format, there you'll find the formula to make the necessary electrolyte for the copper parting cell and other types of cells used for purifying silver and gold.

We're not permitted to speak of such things as chemicals on this site, but you can join the gold refining forum which has some very knowledgeable members.

Here's a thread i started back in August, home built ultrasonic tank.

    Another thread copper parting.

Thread on my hammer mill copper chops compressed into briquettes .

Another thread on my home made essential oil still.

No chemicals, used a few grams 50/50 solder as my collector.

There's enough gold on that sample that even the topside on this button is showing color, had I used a flux the bottom side would have turned out much nicer.

I have over a ton of this ore, briught back from my BC trip - living on a sail boat.

Just got an older Jaw crusher from a buddy on the Island, it's a 6 inch previously used for crushing bricks. Now my ball mill has a companion.

I have wondered a few times just how much GOLD and silver might be around my yard in the things I have piled up. But I'm a copper and nickle sort of person at heart.

We scrappers put in lots of work to recover and upgrade our copper to maximize our profits, but we often overlook silver, with silver currently at $25.00 a troy ounce and copper say at $2.50 a pound, it would take 10 pounds of copper to equal the value of one troy ounce of silver.

A salt water cell will remove silver from plated material and I'm sure a few of you have used ferric chloride to etch a custom made circuit board.
