It's because you moved back to Canada. Put in a support ticket and it'll get fixed.

What do you need a green card for? Just come on over with all of the other ille......I mean undocumented people and you can get all kinds of free stuff. Shoot from 2004 to 2006 you could come to Tennessee and get a brand new drivers license. All you needed was a paid electric bill showing your home address. No questions asked.

I started having issues earlier this week and could not even connect to the website. This went on for 2 or 3 days. I could ping the site but if I tried to connect, it would just time out. I cleared my cookies, cache and everything else I could think of but nothing worked. Everything cleared up yesterday.
I was beginning to think that admin had sent me on vacation with Gus, Alloy and Proton.

Site has been on auto pilot for quite some time, far as I can tell.

Fascinating. In what manner have you seen evidence of it not being on autopilot? Replies/responses to support tickets? I've never even had one acknowledged, mush less fixed.

The only thing I can think of that I've seen that let me know that there was a man (?) behind the curtain was when a thread I was reading that got a little politically heated suddenly disappeared.

I'm not dissing this forum, don't get it twisted... it's a helluva resource especially for a newbie just now discovering this crazy hobby.

I don't think they spend much time monitoring the forum to make sure we are behaving. I think they rely more on the report button and people who open support tickets. They are probably notified by email when members use these tools. I see a lot of spam in the wee hours of the morning and I report it. It's usually gone within an hour or two.

They've never been about babysitting or holding hands on here.

In the past usually I see action like Jimi has. Late at night, early morning when the spam bots are out in force and doing their thing. Doesn't happen as much here anymore though in my experience. A few get by now and then, but I think a lot get caught by staff and us members.

Keep in mind also, with Mick and Mech having passed away a big part of the interaction from staff went with them. Our sole remaining mod is only one person, and far as I know Mick and Mech have yet to be replaced(Not that they could ever be, but I think folks know what I mean) from what I've seen. The Admin(s) generally don't chatter much. Now an then I'll see they snuck a thank in on a post.

I take all this as a good sign.

    1. They trust us for the most part to police our own.
    2. It means their doing other stuff, hopefully to make the forum even better.

That's my take on it though. I generally don't have to bother them for much an if I do, I know where the support button is. An how to Pm and or send an email.

Far as the site being wonky. It's not just SMF in my experience of late. A couple other sites I go to have had similar issues, I can't say it for sure but that's how it feels to me. I've had no issues on here with the exception of once earlier this week or last week. Couldn't reach the site after midnight, I just chalked it up to **** getting fixed/updated/etc.

Maybe some big arrows and glow lights to go with the big banner for the folks who need the help finding the Support button.

I was able to find the support button back on the 13th >> No glow lights needed
How long is the norm to get a response?
