I watched that and went and watched the source video she talked about. Basically, cryptocurrencies were give a value to make crowdsourcing computational power to work on AI a value.

It reminds me of the "Capcha" tests where you had to read a word and put it into a textbox to prove you were a human being and not a computer. They would give you two words and ask you to type them into a text box. One they would know, and the other the computer could not figure out. They were working to translate text to digital text and wen they found words the computer could not figure out, they would you it as a capcha puzzle. They crowdsourced the deciphering of text the computer could not figure out. They were able to give the translation of text a value they could sell to companies to safeguard their account logins.

WE are the ones who are building AI...

I now believe that Bitcoin was a pilot project testing the waters on crypto currency, I leave it here for all to ponder.

FEDS DENY ALLEGED HACKER TO PAY BAIL WITH CRYPTOCURRENCY

After being arrested by federal agents for allegedly hacking videogame giant Electronic Arts Inc.’s systems, Martin Marsich tried to post a $750,000 bond with cryptocurrency.
That’s when Marsich, federal authorities and the court ran into problems that show how difficult it can be to use digital currency in the real world, even as it becomes more prevalent online. In this case making its way through federal court in San Francisco, there were concerns that selling a large stash of small and lightly traded coins could have caused severe fluctuations in their prices.

Last known to reside in Italy, Marsich, 25, has been accused by the Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation of infiltrating EA EA, -0.60% systems related to its “FIFA” soccer franchise and stealing roughly $324,000 worth of digital goods, according to court documents. Arrested at San Francisco International Airport amid a sightseeing trip to Los Angeles, Marsich tried to use his stash of cryptocurrency as bail.

I hope you all took advantage of the opportunity to pick up some cryptos back when they were cheap. I have had some for years and decided to lock some profits in and get something tangible. I cashed in enough to get me a new (used) truck. The old '01 Toyota is nearly 300K miles and I decided I could use and enjoy an upgrade to a bigger, more comfortable truck. Got a 2016 Nissan Frontier extended cab with 30K miles. Was able to pay cash with Bitcoin I had bought years ago with money I got from scrapping.

Whoo boy ... that's a heck of a score T. If my research was right ... bitcoin has gone from roughly 7,200.00 to over 52,000.00 in the last 18 months ?

Congrats. I'm not a trader, but made a quick flip the other day... either want to put a new engine and tranny in what I have, or upgrade...

I have a 2000 F150 5.4L..one of those 7700 models with the beefed up suspension, brakes, etc.

I've had my mind on a 7.3L F250 Diesel, crew cab for the kids, long bed for the scraps. Used of course...

I looked at buying 200 coins ( NZ$1000 worth ) when it was $3.. I couldn't find solid info on how or where to buy Bitcoin & after about a hour I gave up.

Yeah right, moving forward it is still good to invest in btc. It is projected to reach 200k this year.

Depending on how long you have been doing that, you could be an incredibly wealthy man.

Don't worry dude, Bitcoin is like anything else; it's worth what people are willing to pay for it.
