I was thinking how cool is this, then i can across one of the bills which looked like no 2$ bill i ever seen in my life the thing is red and gold and has japanese writing on it. It is cool and odd. Freakin SWEET!
Best "Stash in a computer find" I've ever heard of!

My irony would have been that I would have paid one of my Curbco guys $2 bucks for the tower and got 74 more when I opened it up!
    BANG!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

I've never found any money but about 3 years ago I brought home several computers that had mice living in them. The worst I've found were some brown recluse spiders.

I found a tower that confused me at first glance. Had a power strip mounted to the back with a timer attached. Thought why? Opened it up. No circuit boards. Huh? Reflective material was lining the case. Oh...light installed inside top. Mini grow room. Made me laugh, but hey it is Alaska.

Last year in a box full of old computer floppy discs I found a really old but in really good shape Disney cast pin. The people who had the old 80's computer stuff were elderly and had died and their family was clearing everything out so they could sell the home. I haul scrap and stuff so they called me to some clean the rest out. I always go through the boxes. My son did some extensive research on some of the Disney sites and ran across some old timers who recognized the old cast pin and responded. It seems the pin was from opening day at Disney in 1955. According to one Disney historians there were only twelve of the pins made as temporary cast pins due to a shortage of cast pins with names printed on them. The ones who had the twelve pins had to hand write their name on a scrap of paper and slip it in to a clear slot on the pin. The Pin I found belonged to an Alice Foster. She was supposed to have turned the pin back in but apparently didn't. Apparently there are records that show who worked when and on what rides on opening day in 1955. The historians are digging a bit further. My son has been asked if he would sell the pin. Of course he said no. One man said there are some So-Cal Disney collector's out there who would pay up handsomely for it given how rare it is. The other things I brought home last year along with some old stuff off a back porch of an abandoned home someone was going to flip was a large family of roof rats. It took me almost a year to get rid of them. Drove my Basset hound nuts but she was able to catch three of them as revenge. Using traps and bait we finally got them all. I now look in things before loading them.

I found a small desktop infested with roaches and other beetles just recently. Not sure how they ended up in there, or how the computer still ran, but there it was! Creepy stuff!
