    Graving Dock

This dry dock is located in Esquimalt on Vancouver Island, I used to work for an equipment rental outfit as a mechanic on several occasions my duties called upon me to make repairs to a welder or air compressor at the dock.

I dreaded those calls involving equipment lowered into the dry dock, the only access available to me were using the stairs and god forbid you forgot a much needed tool and had to make more than one trip on those stairs leading to the bottom.

After a ship has been placed in the dry dock divers have to place all those blocks under the ship to keep it upright after all the water has been pumped out, a dangerous job that I'm glad that I had no part of. Setting block way above my pay scale.

I spent two years in the mid 80's just down the road at Royal Roads. One of the nicest places I've been.

That was interesting and the music was fine along with the tour.

Sort of like Mister Rodgers Neighborhoods picture picture, which I always enjoyed watching how things were made and the tours of interesting places.

This YouTube stuff is interesting with a high speed connection. In the past I couldn't watch any of it with a dial up connection.
