Don't forget to save those big aluminum bake pans!

We usually use cast iron pots and pans on an open fire. Aluminum has a life expectancy of 30 seconds it takes to be scrapped. For some reason aluminum does not tolerate an open fire.

My favorite recipe is one large ham, two cans of cherry's, two cans of pineapple, potatoes, carrots, onions, and two cans of beer buried in embers for an hour and a half. Without getting into detail, dessert, bread, stuffing, etc. are cooked at the same time in other pots on the fire. The ultimate in our tradition is sitting around the fire eating Thanksgiving Dinner with the snow falling and the wind whipping. It does not happen every year, but when it does it is special. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Glad to see you are still around. I have been wondering how you have been doing, other than wrecking cars.

Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving! Family, friends, good food, and perhaps a few beverages from SSA's cooler, doesn't get much better than that.

All the kids are out of the house and both sons are working out of state so we decided to take everyone out to eat a big supper when they are all in. So it just me and the wife, so we decided to make a baked turkey breast, a small ham, rice dressing, and dinner rolls. We spent the morning cooking together, ate together, now watching tv together. I'm spending thanksgiving today with my wife and best freind, and she is both to me. I feel truly blessed to have this day to share with her, and this story to share with you my scrapping friends, I truly hope each and everyone of y'all have the best holiday ever. And also a word of thanks to all the men and women putting their lives on the line so we can all be free and safe. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF YOU
