Take care of your canine friends.

First let me say that my family has no enemies and my dog has never hurt nor offended anyone.

Last weekend we decided to leave our dog out on the chain instead of crating him when we left to town. We have done this dozens of times. We live on four acres in BFE. When we got home we brought Bolt inside and noticed his back was a little wet. We thought he was sweating as it was hot out and he sometimes would do that. The next day he was acting real lethargic and kind of scared. His back skin was raised up running from his neck to his tail and we thought uh-oh, he has sunburn so we start treating for that with aloe and vitamin e and cool baths twice a day. Tuesday he now has patches of hair missing all over the raised area on his back. We are getting concerned and continue to treat for sunburn. Wednesday he now has open, bleeding wounds as if the raised patch was being cut off. We call a vet, he didn't care and couldn't be bothered. Thanks douche. Next vet. Says get him there next day ASAP. Thursday the skin has been eaten away and was starting to rot and smell. Vet says not good. He tells us what causes this. Some evil, vile, piece of human waste had gone onto our property and dumped some kind of chemical on his back and it was eating away his skin. Vet could not properly assess damage until the dying or dead skin on his back separated completely from the good skin on his sides. Started antibiotics and sent us home with a bunch and wound care instructions as well as instructions on what to do if it got worse as he was leaving for vacation. Friday he seemed Perkier by end of night but smell was so bad with seepage. Yesterday we get home from errands and the skin had separated completely and all I see is bones.....the chemical had eaten all of the flesh on his hind-back area above the tail. It was so horrible. We took him to emergency vet services at Purdue and we had to put our friend down. My sons birthday present two and a half years ago and the best dog we ever had, completely loved by every single person that ever met him was murdered by some piece of **** dumping chemicals on his back for no reason. Watch your dogs folks. If the skin starts to raise up with a "pour pattern", get him in immediately....they can be saved before it's too late.

    R.I.P Bolt-Jaguar. You are missed.
Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.

This is a very sad story; animals are helpless creatures, anyone who tourchers (sp?) them are sick individuals... This person will get what they deserve. Kamma will come around..

Some sick bastard for doing that. Yep hopefully the person or persons who did it will suffer the same fate as your dog did. It seems like the person who did this act needs some help, I would help him with a bath of battery acid if I were to catch him

Take care of your canine friends.

very sorry to here of your loss. it is a terrible thing when we have to put down our kids, since they are family members, but it's even worse when you know they are basicly murdered. karma will take its toll. prayers and well wishes to you and the family.

If you ever find the Son of a B who did this, sock em real good for me...preferably, right in the face...this is not a karma situation for me...If someone ever killed my dog and I found out who it was I'd send em to the hospital for a looong visit, be worth every night in jail and every penny of fines.
just plain BS...ohhh i'm so mad.

Animals especially dogs are awesome in every way, I was raised around dogs all my life, I see a dog as my closest friend, I can tell them my deepest secrets and share the most wonderful moments in life, if I ever see a person or persons being cruel to an animal, I will personally come unglued and take every bit of anger that I have been holding back for years and let them have it, animals should be cherished and loved on like they were your own kid, you can say they are your furry little kiddo, I mean what I say and my heart dose go out you Hypoman and your family and I really hope that you find that sorry sack of s#*! that did that.
Like I said in one of my post, I will keep you and your family in my prayers and that I will pray for you in finding this sick individual.

thanks all for the thoughts everyone. I would love to find to person who did this. We will be getting trail cameras soon to prevent anything similar from happening. There may be a bright spot in this tragedy. My neighbor informed me yesterday that her dog(papered pure bred German shepherd) recently took a little romantic stroll somewhere and is now pregnant and if they look like they may be Bolts, we can have one. Bolt considered her his girlfriend anyways. That would be cool if they were our dogs pups.

Man ..... I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend.

I know you're hurting but try to step back away from it. It might be different than what you think. Could be most anything that caused it. Where the vet prescribed antibiotics he / she might have thought it was the mange -or- a flesh eating bacteria. It's possible that it was just something that happened.

Only thing worse than losing a friend is feeling like somebody did it on purpose.

Nope, vet said definately chemical burns. The antibiotics werefor the infection caused by the dying and dissolving flesh.

Sorry for your loss Hypoman, this makes me angry and also sad as it brings up memories of when someone shot my dog. Same situation, he was loved ( we thought) by everyone.
He survived but I never knew who did it and they are lucky I never knew. I hope it works out that you get a pup of Bolts offspring.
