** Quick update, some of my blood cell counts are coming back up so the DR's down here seem to think that Ft Wayne Hosp. (Not VA) jumped the gun when they diagnosed me. Their doing a lot more testing. Plus their talking some rehab now so maybe you guys haven't gotten rid of me yet. lol

Talk about a real roller coaster ride, this has been one.

I just saw this. I had no idea you weren't feeling well but I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I went to see Mechanic today! What a great visit! First time meeting this gentleman. I am going to let him keep you posted on his prognosis and let him share what he feels he would like to with all of you.
I passed on all the regards from all the SMF members and sent along a card sort of from all of us! Any of you who PM'd me or sent me a text I also passed along those specific regards to him as well!

Was really nice to be able to sit down and talk for a few hours with him, he's just as nice in person as here on the forum!!

He did move rooms and they have his laptop tucked away, so hopefully if he is feeling up to it they will let him have the laptop and he can post again!

That's great news!!! Everything I know about,(admittedly not much) says you are a fighter. Keep fighting and get outta of that place.

Sledge, the visit was really enjoyable to talk with someone that was not a Dr. or nurse. Actually could talk with someone about scrapping and life instead of medicine.
I even passed on a lil tidbit to him while I've been in these hospitals. Or as Sledge would say, "Scrapping at the VA". Gotta say, things are looking up a little at a time.
My hearts still in *afib, doesn't want to go back to normal and I have to be on a hi-flo of oxygen to breathe correctly.
* Afib is when your pulse rate will not stay steady but jumps around, in my case from the 70's up to 130-140's and back down. make the heart work harder and you don't get a good flow of blood thru your system. Can lead to strokes also.

I believe this is the 4th fellow I've met from the forum including Hypo, another tough young man who is doing what he needs to maintain his family.

My thoughts and prayers are still with you Mike. My wife has been dealing with Afib for a couple of years now, so it CAN be beat. She also had congestive heart failure with hers when it first set in. Stay strong and hurry home!

When I arrived Mechanic was having a treatment.. and the nurse asked me to go down and wait in his room. While I was waiting I kept looking at all the machines, computers etc in the room. Once Mike got back I said "Man.. do you sit here and wonder what kind of boards may be in something like this (pointing to some type of monitor)" He chuckled and said "Yes.. yes I do"

I never thought twice about it until I got into EWASTE.......A hospital and medical equipment is a great source of re-sell and circuit board scrap!!!.......

GODspeed in yer recovery Mech. .. and thank you for the seemingly endless knowledge you share :) ... have yer buddy bring yer tool kit in. Lets see some o them boards ;)
