A "Feel Good" story that will put a smile on your face!

Tonight my family went out to dinner tonight at Flap-Jack's Pancake House.. at one point this nice older lady came around and kept making the loop with a pot of coffee.. she was dressed in very non-waitress attire.. But she kept coming around and filling everyone's cups.. mine never got dry.

By the end of our meal I asked the cashier if Phyllis worked there or was she just a nice lady who takes it upon herself to fill people's coffee cups. The gal says "Phyllis comes in here 2 and sometimes 3 times a day.. and no.. she doesn't actually work here"

I told my wife that I wanted to leave the waitress a tip.. but I thought Phyllis needed one too! I took $2 and went over to the table she was sitting at and said "You need a tip tonight for working" She wouldn't have it.. she refused and gave it back. I said "No you should be rewarded for being so kind" She then says "Sweetie.. when you make a million dollars off of something.. you don't need a tip" She went on to tell me how she had bought stock long ago in Cracker Barrel Restaurants.

Money aside, this sweet lady just does the coffee loop for fun.. and to help the waitresses out. A sweet soul this lady.. So Thanks Phyllis.. I appreciate you!

    Dakota-
She didn't stand up.. but I could tell just the fact that I took the time to let her know that I appreciated what she did.. that was "payment enough" for her.

I'm glad you took the time to thank her. It's so nice when people are genuinely being nice just to do it. I wish I'd met her too.

Tonight, my wife and I went to Full Moon Barbeque and I had to stop and tell the cashier/order girl (20s) that I appreciated her attitude and helpfulness. We hadn't been there before and she was all about helping and even telling us what her favorites were. It's good to meet people like that.

Every time I go to cb I (wife) spend 4 times as much in the store as I did for the meal.
    Love me some cracker barrel.
