This new feature slows down the website-I don't like it.

    Might be you.

    Not slowing me down any.

Takes some getting used to, but causing no issues for me viewing, loading, reading, etc the site.

Well it's only on the homepage for now and the featured area is really just in a testing phase right now (Even its size/shape/content is not set in stone). But we'll definitely be using it to feature awesome threads, offers from members, contests, polls and probably some other stuff.

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

Can we make it smaller? I still use a Dell D510 with a 1024x768 screen. The banner takes up most of my screen. A slimmer, "weight-watchers" version seems like a nice idea to me, though.

Yes, dimensions have been adjusted along with some other small things.

It was coming up on all pages last night Admin, but I see now it's not.

Wasn't hurting my load times or reading ability but was kinda annoying to see it at the top of threads an on the "what's new" page.

I like it, look forward to seeing it used in the future.

I have a couple of older laptops too. Wide screens NOT.
For Firefox try an add-on called NoSquint. You can adjust the size of text and graphics per website to make them easier to view. Works great on wide format pages and also my old tired eyes.

It was briefly. You wouldn't believe how much code and tinkering it takes to make the simplest of things show up in the correct places and display to the correct users with the correct content. Besides making sure stuff works in general - Just getting things to show up (or not show up) where I want is a task in itself .

But, we're always trying to improve where we can so feedback is always welcome. And I'm glad you like it!

PS - By default, it shows images you include in your threads, so threads with pictures (either as attachments or otherwise) will look better in the new slider.

    r.
I take it that last night was one of those getting things
to work in general nights. database errors ; account suspended YIKES ; port 80 was even closed.
Today is another day. I hope things go a little smoother.
