    Senior Member?

A few weeks ago I logged into the SMF and noticed something different under my avatar. It said Senior Member. I'll be honest, it irked me a bit because I turned 50 Feb of this year and for the first time in my life my age really bothered me. I realize there's things I use to do that I can't do any more and there are things I do and it takes a few days to recover. The past 12 months have presented a lot of challenges for me like losing my Mom back in March and the job I had had for 30 years. I know many of you have experienced the same thing and as someone on this forum said "You just have to put your big boy pants on and keep going". How true! I realize now how blessed me and my family are. The passing of family and friends are just a part of life. It will always hurt and there will always be a void. I was able to get another full time job with good benefits 2 months after I lost the other one and I have been able to replace our 2 vehicles that decided to take a big dump while I was out of work. Things always seem to work out. So back to the Senior Member issue. A quick search informed me that meant it had been a year since I signed up on the SMF. A full year and I haven't even paid for a membership. A full year I've been reading and learning from the experiences of everyone on this forum. I am embarrassed. I've thought several times that I would get one but I never have. I gonna make a scrap run in the next week and finally get one. I owe a lot to this forum and its members.

Welcome to the senior club. Remember age is only a number and with it comes wisdom. You are a good member and I have picked up a few things from your posts.
I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.” John Wayne-- The Shootist

    'Senior member' means to me.
That when you take a deep breath before you talk.

People go silent, so they can hear what you are about to say.

Because they know they are always going to learn something.
