What’s the Most Important Piece of Equipment in Your Shop?

i would think that No1 would be common sense
thereafter comes everything else

i dont have a shop
i carry a 5lt paint bucket with my most commonly used tools in it.

screwdrivers
pliers
side cutters
hammers
shifting spanners
a hacksaw blade-very useful for scratching the surface coating of any metal- to see what it really is.

I was in the construction business for 35+ years so I have boxes full of tools. About the only ting I don't have is something to cut heavy steel.

In order of use. pretty much.

Sidecutters, they can cut things, cut wire, cut to weaken stuff, strip stuff, as a hammer, to remove nuts and screws etc. As a lever.
Phillips screwdriver, for all those phillips screws, and theres millions of them.
Flat bladed screwdriver, for levering stuff apart, and flat slot screws
9 inch angle grinder, for all those things a anglegrinder can do, cutting open compressors and cutting the end off electric motors coils
Copper loppers, like garden loppers, but made for copper tubeing. Best tool I ever found while scrappin
Electric screwdriver, or loose your mind undoing screws.
Adjustable spanner, or 'cresent' as we call them, its a trade name.
Bench vise, its not gonna stay in one place if you hit it hard unless its in a bench vise.
Ear protection, let's you bash stuff harder and concentrate. Also good for use wh ile grinding, same with
Safety glasses
Crowbar, of any sort
Punch, free with every electric motor.
Sacks, probably very important to me as I carry everything in sacks, on my back, home. Then I store my metal in them.
Water, actually orange juice, hydrations important.

And, which I didn't forget. My 7 inch tablet. I get free wifi and that means access to scrapmetalforum each day. A very valuable item and a insight to others scrapping, metal prices and how to ad value to my metal and how to get the most out of it plus all those tips that put me at the top of 'The Game'.

Seriously, no one has said drill yet??? It was all I wanted when I started...after the third tower and fifth tv I broke down I couldn't do it anymore! Lucky for me it was real close to my b-day and I convinced my wife I needed one for "productivity"
