    Why?
Money is not the root of all evil, the love of money is.

Why not become a Doctor , Legal eagle , MD of a multi million $ firm , angry young man , filmstar , rock n roll star. Or just be 14 years old and follow your dreams ....keep it tidy ....think though you reasons you want to 'scrap' .... People shouting never seem to hear or be heard.BUT keep your options open , sometimes a logical talk with those who don't see your side of things MAY see the -'I want to do this at moment BUT will work hard to goto college and pursure the route of getting a professional career'.
If i was 14 and knew what i now know .........The world would be a lot different....Or mine atleast......

British CRAP i'm old ..........And talk it ............lack of beer ...........
If you still love this game (I do for many reasons (the main one is i have to think and be true to myself)Go for it , i love being my own boss and not being told what, when and how to do it (except for SMF peeps - They have lived n learn in the crazy 'school of life' and realy have (great/good/not so good/rubbish ideas),

Kinda like, talk to me just don't talk At me. This is how it sounds to me, the uncle is talking At him (them) rather than talking TO him which, as an adult he should do. The youngster should follow suit which, it seems he isn't being given the chance. I'd never have thought H&S was 14 if I hadn't of seen it in a thread, he seems to be quite a go getter at his young age which should be applauded by the elders. I think a communication breakdown has occurred which is a shame really

H&S, I have confidence in you, I believe you can work this out. Heck, show Gramma and Grampa and future Uncle this site, knowing they have probably seen scrappers every day/week but maybe they don't quite understand just how hard and lucrative scrapping can be. Would they rather see you asking them for money? Or would they rather be proud of you for being able to make your own money? For taking the initiative? I rather think they would but are being otherwise influenced at this point in time.

As a mom, I am high-fiving you for your initiative and dedication to a cause that is hard, dirty and time consuming but reaps great rewards in more ways than one

My advise to you hunter & scrapper would be to respect your elders and do as they wish. I see in one of your other posts you are only 14. You have your whole life in front of you to scrap stuff. Maybe have your future uncle help you load it and sell it. If it's a decent pile maybe it will open his eyes as to how much money can be made. I feel for you, but sometimes there are liability issues with piles of junk on property, or issues with the authorities not wanting an eyesore in the area. Good luck.

    OH, OK
    hes only 14

then he should just obey his elders.

but at 14, how can u have a future uncle?
i think ur still too young for that stuff

but anyways, just do whats right

Read my signature line. It all in the way you say something. You sometimes have to make a stand for what you know is right and what is rightfully yours. It may help also to get a few of your relatives that know how hard you worked for what you have and ask them to get him off your back.

Sounds like new uncle has an eye on grandparents property to me. Maybe someone close by from here could help you out, i would rather see you have to split a ticket with another member than cut in your future uncle for a piece. Wish I was close kid, I would do it for nothing. Whatever happens dont let it sour you on making your own money and trying to do things for yourself.

Am I the only person on SMF that thinks a 14 year-old should respect the wishes of his parents/elders? I feel for h&s as much as anybody, but we are only hearing ONE side of the story. If my teenager came to me with "my friends on the internet said you should piss into the wind!" Yeah, I'd be more than a little upset. Maybe I am old school. I should just move into the nursing home. Then I'd be in the same boat as hunterandscrapper. They wouldn't let me scrap there.

Yes I think that too and I would not go tell my dad to piss in the wind but what I've heard so far is that the scrap is on the grandparents property which it does not appear they are concerned about so why is this "future uncle" getting involved it's not his property or scrap. I'd be proud to have a hard working son one day and that's what I'm doing now working to actually do something not sit around and beg for money.

How does your aunt feel about it? maybe sit and talk to them and explain how this makes you money and ask if one of them would help you take it in and they can see the ticket/end result. After that, maybe they would work something out with you , give you a certain amount of space to use and help you turn your stuff in if you offer to give them gas money afterwards. Is there a shed on the property you could use?

Respect is a two way street no matter how young or old someone is. HnS has taken the initiative to work hard and and make his own money. He could have easily been like other teens who sit on their a$$es all day, play video games and ask mom and dad for money. Now an outsider wants to take it away...BS!!!! You let someone walk over you once they think they can do it all the time.
