Who is your faverate baseball team and who do you think is going to the worlds series?

Mine is the Tampa Bay Rays and I think they have a very good chance to make it to the worlds series. Maybe I'll come up some kind of a prize for the one that picks the winning team. If more than one person picks the same winning team then we'll go by picking the score of the last game played in the series. If anyone has any better ideas please post them, there will be no changes after the all star break. So get your picks in and good luck. P. S. Maybe I'll send a pentium pro processor to the winner.

Not a big Baseball fan, but if I had to choose my team...The Nationals, and/or the O's. Being as I'm from the DC area I should like at lest one of my home teams. I hate the Redskins, I can't stand those idiots the Wizards(Bullets!), so I guess it's the Nats an the Capitals. O's are there just there cause that's who I had to watch growing up, since DC has no baseball team.

I also like the White Sox, but I'll go with the home team love on this one. An I choose the Nats to go all the way..they won't but I can still dream.

Runner up gets a single beer of happy's choice?

Sirscrapalot - The great trouble with baseball today is that most of the players are in the game for the money and that's it, not for the love of it, the excitement of it, the thrill of it. - Ty Cobb, an this was said before he died in 61', he'd likely have multiple strokes if he saw the game today.

Rockies spent $10 million on a new roof top patio but get some talent during the off season...not a chance.

However we did win the home opener yesterday and some dude went 6 for 6.

If reading doesn't put me to sleep, I try baseball.

Different time an era. My quote from Ty Cobb earlier is perfect for what your saying. An that was from right before he died in the 60s.

I do enjoy the game, but these days it's all about money an me me me. Whether baseball, football, basketball, etc. Only sport not like that of the four majors is Hockey. I can't watch more then one inning on tv, which annoys my wife cause she likes the Nats. If I was closer I'd take in a game, it was always a good excuse to play hooky from school or work.

Anyhow..why I may not follow, I still enjoy a live game, good ballgame hot dog, an a large cup of over priced beer.

Anyhow..go Nationals! You will be mine pretty gold chip! /cue Gollum quotes from the LOTR fans.

Two favorite teams, Red Sox in the AL and Pirates in the NL. Have season seats for the AAA Red Wings, top farm club of the Twins. I'm also an avid autograph collector.

If any of you Pittsburghers collect autographs, we may have crossed paths at a game or at the Piratesfest.

I'm from Detroit so of course my favorite team are the Tigers, and the world series will be ours again on the 30th anniversary of the last one! I live outside of Dallas now but I can't stand the Rangers (I can't tell you how much I enjoyed game 6 of the series they had with the Cardinals a few years back). I also like the trade they did earlier this year between fielder and kinsler. I was disappointed in Fielder's performance in Detroit, plus he made me feel old since I remember watching his dad play for the Tigers when I was a kid.

Anyway, since there's 2 of us on here now that said the Tigers I'll go ahead and put my tiebreaker in now...Tigers win it all in 6 with a final score of 6-4

Dodger Blue all the way to October. The new ownership is committed to winning, out with the old and we should be a winning franchise again. Just last week with exhibition games in Australia, Dodgers have always been a world class team. Now we need another World Series Champion Trophy.

My team is the Atlanta Braves. Been a fan since 1993 when I got hooked to baseball. Wish they were still on TBS. I miss those days. I will probably be buying the MLB.TV package so I can scrap and watch at the same time.

Although, if they lose, I am afraid what the screen will look like if I have a tool in my hand.

Thank you all for your postings. It is early in the season and I'm sure we will have a better idea of where things stand after the all star break. I have not been much of a fan until last year when I started watching most of the rays games. Like someone said above that baseball puts me to sleep but there is something about the Rays. I don't know if it's the team or the local anouncers that we have but they are an exciting team to watch. Here are some facts about the Rays that I think will put them in the worlds series this year. Baseball analists rank the Rays pitching to be the best in the majors Including 2012 sy young David Price. All four or the starting infielders were runs up for last years gold glove award. Three of the starting defense have won the rookie of the year including 2013 winner Will Myers. Until today they were the only team in the majors that had no eras and after only seven games are in first place in th AL east. Yes I know it's early this makes me very excited.

My dad became a Braves fan in '92, my little brother is a Braves fan, my older brother is a Mets fan, and I am a Phillies fan. It gets crazy at my house, it was good for me in '08 but went downhill form there
