Daytona Beach

Hey guys,

Im on vacation in Daytona Beach for the week. Its kart week at Daytona, (yes, the same one NASCAR races on) so ill be racing with my dad. Our little karts aren't any fun karts... these bad boys do about 100 at the least with some super karts with an excess of 120 plus down the backstretch.

The guys we race and are sharing our garage with have alot of racing stories from outlaws to stock car racing on the beach, all the way back to dirt racing with karts. We got a few midget cars back home to race, and after watch the dirt karts race here at night, it brought me back to the days of going to a local dirt and pavement track and watching them bad boys race.

So, anyone have any racing stories they'd like to share?

Ever flip a 10 foot hydroplane boat when doing 60mph?
My son races kneel down hydros and runabouts. speed rang from 50mph with a 15hp engine to 90mph with a 50hp. Modified classes can go 100+.

Those would be cool to see. In the beginning of September they had those race at a local lake. I live about a mile and half away and hear those bad boys screaming on the lake
