Pretty basic. I should format it a little better, but I just threw it together in two minutes. Hope it helps

    Outdated Electroics (Oregon/Northwood/Toledo)
If you are looking to recycle your old electronic equipment please contact me and let me know what you have. I recycle ALL materials, there is nothing that gets sent to the landfill. Some items I am willing to pay for, but some I have to pay myself to be recycled (Monitors and TV's mainly due to the CRT tubes contained inside). I am mainly looking for items that are no longer working, or you have no use for. Please feel free to send me a message, and I can give you additional information. I am located around the Northwood area, but am willing to pickup anywhere within a 15 mile radius. When emailing me, please put Outdated Electronics and your location (Northwood, Oregon, etc) so I know it's not spam. Thank you for your time, and consideration.

Also planning on uploading my business card to my ad once I get them in the mail. I think people will look at it more "real" with some signage included.

Well, I just picked up everything from the guy who responded to my craigslist ad. More pics to follow. Definitely some vintage models and parts. In addition to whats in the pictures, there are 7 towers a 15in CRT monitor, old dell server (I think) and a 20 in LCD with a bad power supply. Not bad for little to no effort, other then posting an add on craigslist, besides breaking it down, pricing everything out, etc.

I like your ad though...seems to ring honest regular guy...people like dealing with whom they think they are too. Keep it up.

Nice pickup. I assume you post that well worded ad in the "Wanted" section on CL ? Or, is it under Computers ?
    Tnx, Ed

I put up two ads. One in the wanted: computers section, and one in the wanted: electronics section. I have to keep bumping it up, and haven't got any replies since, but still well worth it in my eyes. Also I plan on hooking up the Dell server, and checking that out. By my brief search, they go for around $200-250, maybe more depending on the specs.

From my understanding its from around 06, and yeah its a duel core. At the very least I'm going to hook it up and play around with it. Never ran a server before, and I'm interested to see its capabilities area. So far today all I've done is organize my work space. It was so unorganized, which I cant stand to begin with, not to mention the extra time it takes to locate a part or tool. Just need to take some other stuff out, and rig up some sort of workbench with a peg board on it. Its upstairs in my house, for now, but once it gets a little warmer i'm going to clean out my back garage and setup a more permanent work area. I'm going to spend more time on getting everything in order, then I will breaking everything down and testing it.

It is kind of funny that computers have a better resell value than servers when you are talking about dated equipment. There is a small market for a single/dual core server but single core P4's still sell. I often end up scraping servers for just that reason. They are in less demand and available at a lower cost (despite the higher scrap value).

found this at the bottom of a box..neat little cpu remover tool, and an i486. Wish it was gold on both sides, but I'm not complaining anyone know what these ceramic i486's go for per pound? I know the duel sided ones go for around $135 a pound.

Not bad! I just picked up 20 computers from one company, (they said they had 8, but to my surprise ) and 3 from another with 7 UPS and 7 monitors total 2 flat screens I can sell those more than scrap and fix them if they have bad components, along with both loads I got key boards, mice.. I have another pick up tomorrow hopefully they will have more for me than what they say they had

Good luck on the score and keep up the good work!!

How did you make the connection with the company? Just going around to various businesses, or by other means? Just curious. I plan on going out with a buddy of mine in the next week or so and do some marketing. Can't hurt, and I'm only out some gas money and a little bit of time. If I get a lead like the one you have, no doubt it will be worth it, if not just keep on promoting service.
