Hard Drives not being recognized for wiping

So far, I have 2 hard drives that my computer will not recognize so I can wipe them.

There was a discussion on this months and months ago, but I cannot find it now.

It was talking about looking for something within the connector pins if I remember correctly, BUT there is nothing in them I can see.

So far I have 2 wiped and 2 not wiped and this is really frustrating.

This is why you box them up and just ship them to me. I do all the work and pay you for the drives. No frustration on your part. Wait till you get a disk with a locked partition. DO you know how to use diskpart?

I sometimes have the same problem, but with the older hard drives. The computer recognizes that a device has been plugged into the USB port, but they don't show up on My Computer.

Close..they are sata hard drives. Frustrating thing is, is that all 4 so far are sata hard drives. 2 worked great, and the other 2 are not recognizing.

He hasnt called me yet. My guess would be knowing GEO he is not using disk manager and the drives are just not initialized. Thats why he is saying the USB beep is happening but the drive isnt showing up in explorer. If he was using disk manager he would see the drive if he is hearing the USB beep. Also if he is using the cheap usb adapter cable they sell on ebay they are very intermitant and is why I switched to drive docks. Granted the cable is like $5 and a good cheap dock is $50 but well worth the investment if your going to be doing alot of drives.
