Won't be any objection from this Obama-votin' commie socialist liberal. LOL, love it. Just ordered a Ruger LCR .38 special and I'm getting my CCW next year.

I have always been a big gun control advocate. Unless you have good sight alignment, sight picture and trigger control, how else do you get your round thru the "X"????

I think it's hard to disagree with the old adage, if you make it criminal to own/carry a gun only the criminals will own/carry a gun.

I'd also add that the answer is LESS legislation and restrictions.

The more armed citizens there are out there the less gun violence will occur. This is supported by clear data. In states where they implemented a concealed carry law, gun violence has dropped, not risen.

For some reason, criminals are more hesitant to rob people when they don't know if they are armed. Who would have thunk it.

The crazies may also think twice about taking a gun into a school if they knew there were 5 or 6 armed faculty there. Same goes with the malls, and the true gun magnet, the post office.

There are plenty of us Veterans that are comfortable with firearms and wouldn't mind carrying them everywhere, but they are often left in the car or at home because even with concealed carry there are still many restrictions.

If owning guns is criminalized, only criminals will have guns.

But seriously this assault rifles issue is just a stepping stone for full on gun ban, little by little. I for one don't think anything short from a armed sercuity guard could've prevented the sandy hook incident. And I think this business on that guy "forcing" his way in is pure bs, someone dropped the ball here and they've just as much as fault for this as anyone. And how exactly would've laws applying to lawful citizens helped prevent this when the guy stole the guns anyways.

Bad people will always do bad things, whether or not they have guns. Disarming those who follow the law only hands more power to those who want to hurt/ control others. Period.

Two criminals are sitting in a bar. One says to the other, "Hey, let's go rob a bank." The other says, "We can't. Guns are illegal." So the first one says, "Yeah, you're right. Let's go play bingo instead."

I'm a gun loving leftie too. There are actually quite a lot of us.

These bastards pick their targets for a maximum kill - they anticipate unarmed civilians- easy and terrified targets. They are cowards and at least some of them would think twice if they expected armed resistance. Some of them want to go out in (what they see in their sick minds as) a blaze of glory - getting cut down in the act is not what they want. Spending their lives in prison or otherwise being publically humiliated is not what they are looking for.

But then again - didn't the guy in Aurora have on body armor? Are we all going to have to start wearing that too?

Best example I can think of. You never hear of a mass murder at a gun range or turkey shoot yet everyone there has a gun. Guess guns don't kill people

can;t remember the last time an assault weapon as used in a crime. they are rare in the hands of civilians as you need a special permit to own one.

an actual assault rifle is one that is either select fire or one that is fully automatic.

what is taking place is the reduction of the second amendment of the constitution.

the second amendment was not written with rabbits or squeirls in mind bu tinstead, tyrannical governments, that is what scares them.

Yep. Just like that guy that shot the fire fighters who were putting out a fire. Even in a war, nobody ever shoots at the medic or other rescue related occupations.

That guy shouldn't ever seen the light of day after his first stretch in prison for beating his own grandmother to death with a hammer, I think whoever let this wack job loose should be held personally responsible for this horrific crime. If parol boards were held responsible for crimes commited by the people they set free bet ya they'd be a lot more careful. Seriously that guy who shot them firefighters got manslaughter for killing his grandmother, with a hammer, seriously the court system failed us so badly.

I dated a Vietnam vet for awhile - he had been a medic. He told me that after awhile he realized that the enemy wanted to take him really badly because then others would die without him there to help them. Kind of the same sick rationale as killing the first responders on 911, I guess.
