Job and Scrap Metal

Well, since my I found out my wife was pregnant, I went out and found a full time job for a steady paycheck. I was doing scrap full time, but as you know it can be very volatile. Didn't want to have any inconsistancy with income. So now I do scrapping part time.

But I ask, has anyone done this transition before? I didn't realize it until now, but it seems like after I started my job, I have been busier than all heck with the scrapping..More calls, more metal.



It used to REALLY pick up when I mention something about how my business is starting to drag to my wife, but it just seems like now I am getting more scrap as part time, than when I was doing it full time.

Congrats on the pending arrival. I am strictly p/t and don't have a problem getting or finding scrap but the problem comes finding time to breakdown and seperate it to maximize profit.

I have a full time job, 60 hours a week, and haul iron. It's tough and you'll be spread pretty thin but its doable. Congrats on the baby, wonder how that happened ? Lol

No offense guys but I don't think I could ever work for someone else again after doing this for so long...............

None taken. I really didn't want to either, but felt I needed to. However, I didn't go straight to a chain business, I went with a local one location business. I find it more personable. It's a dog kennel, so we have alot of locals coming and going with their beloved pets, and they have to see my truck advertisement each enter/exit that's made...

Wait I think I figured it out now.

And thanks for the congrats. I don't know how it happened! But hey, it's a boy....Another little scrapper for my team.
