    no luck for scrap metal

Well it's another day of not having anything to pick up, I have been advertising online and posting flyers and yet no luck on anything, I have a 35 foo I beam to cut, but it's all the way up in anniston and where I live is a small town called warrior, I have looked around town and talked to couple folks around here and still no luck what so ever.
It seems like that any scrap metal I do find is all the way north or east from where I'm at and that I can't get it because I will be spending my profits out on gas for my truck, but I'm trying , I'm always looking for any type of scrap metal that I can find, I really hope something really big comes my way here soon.

It's tuff finding anything here, too, XZAV38! But the scrapyard people tell me they are busy. So who knows! Just keep looking. Something will come along!

I remember the day when every dead end road or empty patch of woods had an old washing machine or bed frame dumped at the end of it.

Nowadays its hard to even find a few beer cans on the side of the road. The scrapping business truely is growing with less people wasting items.

XZAV38 - Have you ever thought about diversifying your scrapping with e-scrap? The only reason I ask, is because like a lot of others here who do both regular scrap and e-scrap, it's a great way to keep a more consistent flow of scrap coming your way.

It seems like one week I get 20 calls for regular scrap, and then the next, I'm hauling loads of computer towers. It's not always like that, but it does happen more often than not. Just something to think about to keep some cash coming in. Best of luck man, hope it picks up - it's been slow for a lot of people.

Everyones on it now! when people ask how much you make and if you tell the real amount, forget having anymore scrap from them. Just palm it off as not much. Tends to help a little bit.

I have looked into e-scrap, but most of the people here are just hoarding or just giving it to someone else, plus the local mom and pops computer stores are very few and far between, but I am trying to keep an open mind about it

I seem to find most of my stuff going to the grocery store or somewhere. It pops up unexpectedly. Just go shopping .

You will find that a lot of times its feast or famine. There are times that I will go a couple of weeks without picking up anything, then several days in a row I will get calls to pick up some refrigerators, washers or dryers. It is a roller coaster ride for sure.
