Is a url the only way to put images up?

I tried copy/pasting an image in and it put put in like 700000 characters of code in instead of the image. If I have to put my photos into a website to get a url for them I might as well just use the other site to post. I'm hopefully just missing something here.

Thanks. I'll see if it works but I will probably just post them to Whaleshares and share the post here or something. Just way easier for me and I might make 3 pennies from the Whaleshares post. lol
