One of the things I appreciate the most about SMF is how closely sellers, buyers, and the exchange process are linked in such an accessible way. It got me wondering, "Does any other marketplace look and work like this one?" As far as I can tell, there is nothing like it. I've been to Audiokarma and Boardgamegeek and they don't come even close in scope or utility and yet if they had buyers as hungry as the ones of SMF, I would have packages going out daily. Are metals and e-waste uniquely ideal for this kind of economy? I imagine if this kind of thing existed in at least one location, we would be linking to it all the time.

    Here's my answer...

It's the community here. From the mods and Admin staff, to the buyers an members. I visit quite a few forums, an this is the only one I post in, or active you could say. The others...I go, I get my info, an I move on, as their not usually as welcoming as the folks here are. An in my opinion, most forums make a new member feel uncomfortable, here..I don't get that feeling. Mind you I've been here a bit, I'm very active, but I felt like this forum is like Cheer's from the first day. Everyone is welcome til they act the fool. An everybody knows your name...

I don't recall ever seeing on other forums folks helping new members like I see here just about every day.

I don't know what the secret is, maybe it's magic...but I think it's the community.

Hopefully that all made sense to everyone else an not just me..an if not..here is a goat to distract you..

Sirscrapalot - A big thank you to all who make up our fine community, even the goat haters. - me.

You we're saying something about scrap forms?
I got sidetracked with the goat pic.
    Can I pet it?

I had no idea this site even existed or that there was a site dedicated to scrappers until coming across this one while researching something scrap related on U-tube. I have learned a lot from other members. I am here to stay.
