    VIGOR electric soldering machine/Eyeglass grinder

I hooked up with my eye dr. guy last week again and one of the items he gave me was a VIGOR electric soldering machine - Heavy duty model -SM-800.

I have no idea how to test if it works as I know nothing about these things. I had a hard time finding info on the web about them but did find a picture of one for sale like mine. Mine is not all rusty like the one in the picture is.

it has a foot pedal and two attachments - one is the one piece soldering thingymabob and the other is like a pair of tweezers.

My brother works on computers so I'm going to give it to him and I'm excited to see if it works! I'll find out this Saturday when I go there.

I did get a hit when googling these things and new ones seem to cost a few bucks short of &500.00. Not this brand but others like it.

if you're willing to do the shipping, you might be surprised what some things will sell for on ebay

wasn't sure my phone camera still worked but here's mine and also an eyeglass grinding machine. this sucker is heavy! It has two diamond encrusted wheels on it. I'd like to use it for a grinder but the way the machine opens up and some of the gears are on the other side I'm not sure how to do it. I have to think about this one.

Now that is the score of the year, your optical grinder - astronomy comes to mind. Plenty of guys and gals out here grinding and polishing their own optics for home made telescopes.

yeah, I'm kinda stunned at this score still yet and I'm almost frozen with ''what to do with it, what to do with it!'' ROF! I know there are tons of possibilities for this thing if I can figure it out!!
