What would you pay for a pentium pro? In dollars or pounds?
I know lying is wrong, but if the elephant man came in now in a blouse with some make up on, and said, "How do I look?" Would you say, bearing in mind he's depressed and has respiratory problems, would you say, "Go and take that blusher off you mis-shapened elephant tranny?" No. You'd say, "You look nice... John""

That depends on the markings and the condition.

Pentium pro's were released by Intel in two types. One being "standard" production chips, the other being Engineering Sample/ Qualification Sample chips.

The two types can be distinguished by the middle engraving in the ceramic above the gold heatspreader. This is call the sSpec code.

Standard production chips have codes like SL22T, SL22U etc..
ES/ QS chips have a code beginning with Q, like Q004 etc.

I'll pay 50-100GBP for the following production chips and Qxxx chips:

    SY014 SL2FJ

    QSpec:

    Any except, Q0815

For other codes I know buyers who will pay a little less, but certainly above the scrap value.

Here is a list of all the possible chip SSpec markings:
    SY - sSpec#

    SY002 SY011 SY010 SY012 SY013 SY014 SY031 SY032
    SY034 SY039 SY040 SY047 SY048

    SL - sSpec#

    SL2FJ SL22S SL22T SL22U SL22V SL22X SL22Z SL23L
    SL23M SL245 SL247 SL254 SL255 SL259 SL25A

    SU - sSpec#

    SU103 SU104

    Q - sSpec#

    Q008, Q009, Q010, Q011, Q033, Q034, Q035, Q036, Q076, Q083, Q084 Q0812 Q0813 Q0815 Q0816 Q0822
    Q0825 Q0826 Q0856 Q0858 Q0859 Q0860 Q0864 Q0865 Q0871
    Q0872 Q0873 Q0874 Q0907 Q0908 Q0909 Q0910 Q0918
    Q0920 Q0924 Q0929 Q932 Q935 Q936

i may have others laying around, but kinda doubt it being the special ones, probably just plain production. I'll certainly keep them in mind though

Love it when things like this happen, we get a person knowing his product and everyone whose been hoarding can see if they got treasure. hopefully google brings us more. Welcome to the forums.

This is the wrong place to advertise this.

Offers to buy or sell belong in either the buyers/sellers section or the classifieds. And you need a minimum of 25 posts on the forum prior to posting a classified.
