    Nice Chinese Brass

I'm trying to figure out what this thing is and if it has any collector value or what. It's very brass and has chinese(i don't know exactly) characters. I won't say what I think it was from for fear of biasing opinion. Thanks. Oh and if you can refer me to a place that might also tell me what it is would be appreciated.....er, how do I add a pic? I usually click attach but I only see something about a url?

I am guessing you should take it down to little china town. Why don't people on here want to do any research anymore just throw out a question and hope it gets answered. Some things in life are so simple and yet so hard for others to do.

And then they never show back up.........it's weird.....
how the heck are we supposed to answer a question like this.
it's like asking "I have this book and it has a bunch of words(don't know the exact words) anyone know the title or if it has any value?"

you might try uploading it to photobucket, getting a url from there, and using that

you might do well to go on the main page, near the bottom, is a category/section for introducing yourself

It's not brass. Only plastic and brittle pot metal merchandise comes from China.

Get off the guy, he asked reasonable questions.

Maybe everyone instead of *****ing about people asking questions, should answer them. I ***** too about people asking too many questions, but answering STOPS them from asking more.

    Just sayin.

MY bad. You're right Hoss. What he has in his possession is a 19th century Ming Dynasty solid brass vase(pronounced voz) in the styling of shoalin. Items such as these are widely sought after by hi-level organizations such as: The Yakuza, Leonard Nemoy, and Ancient Alien Theorists. Worth about $7. LOL

The social currency on this forum is sorely depreciated by inflated egos. If any of you read, you will see I did not indicate that I haven't and am not presently researching this, Ego thinks I came to you first for your world renowned expertise (laugh here, because this whople thread is riddled with this fallacy). One who can't comprehend the language might think I wasn't aware that a picture was needed, and didn't ask about posting one. One with little to do with themselves might assume I'm standing by ready to respond instantly to nothing useful, or joining photobucket before Bear recommended it (the only useful post, of how many?) WOW. See these assumptions and overlooks of the obvious so you could flaunt your gang's mentality are why this forum is small and inactive, and why its revenue stream is beat. I'll be keeping my picture. Happy scrapping.

Two posts and we are labeled as dumber then a bag of shoes. I got some bad news for you. The OP added zero knowledge to this forum and I might have got dumber just from reading it. How is a 90 billion dollar a year industry played out if you don't mind me asking that question.

If it's old looking you might try taking it into an antique shop and see what they have to say, Might be able to tell you a little history on it. There is consignment shops around also after you find out about it.

I am only a noob as far as this forum is concerned as this was my very first post. My intention was to share with you, not take from you. My friends and I have been scratching our heads over this puzzling artifact and thought you might enjoy doing the same. So here it is:
    Hopefully that worked.

How much weight to it? Looks like you could hang it on a wall and put flowers in it.
