    Vintage bikes worth anything?

Picked up 3 bikes tonight, couldnt find anything on them on google, so thought I'd ask here before I dumped them off as shred tommorow. One is a western flyer (red beach cruiser, two flat tires but frame is decent.) Second is in primer but there is a badge on it that says "Indian Mfg Co Evansville, Ind" ((its a beach cruiser too)) last one is a schwin, blue, no idea but it looks old. just thought i'd see if anyone here knew anything about these.

Oh ya they are worth a lot more than shred value. Vintage bicycles are prized by restorers and collectors. Try to find your closest ones through your local bike shop. Check completed eBay listings. All three bikes sound interesting to me.

Don't scrap 'em. They are worth good cash. At the very least, take the to a bike shop.
You'd be surprised how much you can get for them.....

I've done a lot of business with this company. They've built just about everything over the years. I've never seen one of their bikes before. If you could post some pics, that would be great.

Post some pictures of the bikes, this will give us a better understanding of what you have.

A good rule of thumb, if its old and in good shape, its worth more than scrap to a collector. Even if you get $5 - $10 for each one, that is more than scrap value. But you could possibly get a lot more.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, and we like pictures.

I'm lovin ththe Western Flyer! At a wild guess, I would think that its worth a couple of hundred bucks in the right market. It would be more if it was a boys bike since fewer boys bikes survived. The Indian badge I would keep until the person that just had to have it came along. The Schwinn , I have doubts about, but do some research. I'd like to see a follow-up post to see how you did on these.

I just found this site and was going to try listing a few of the bikes I picked up. You might want to check it out.
