I found a 1981/82 vintage Akai AM-U33 Amplifier, at my favorite landfill this afternoon.

Awesome man! Lol .... Side question. I've never went through a landfill. How's that work? Do they allow it? Do you pay? Do you hide it lol... I mean hate to sound like that guy just curious. Most of my rummaging is through collection sites one step before it goes to a landfill. I'm also a general contractor and do rentals so I get stuff that way, but crazy as it may seem a landfill just sounds like a land of opportunity lol.

It is a gold mine opportunity. When we first started this landfill thing we had 11 sites on our milk run, one site has installed transfer bins and 3 of which we are no longer permitted to remove items from.

Out going truck loads would be frowned upon, due to demographics it's not realistic to do all in one day.

We're planning an outing near the end of this week, possibly as late as Saturday. This will be an all day event, pack a lunch and tools. The last time we visited this particular site there were two Taylor soft ice cream machines, they had been damaged cosmetically from the site operator who had pushed them into a pile. I spent several hours stripping out circuit boardsm gear drive motors etc. my efforts netted me a bit over $800.00 in auction sales.

Besides the Akai amp brought home a nice full sheet of 1 inch plywood and some 2x6's and an old McCulloch 110 chainsaw that I have already dismantled for parts to list on auction.

Pat removes any Amerock, unusual hinges, door knobs, drawer pulls, lamps and shades.

I'm no longer collecting e-waste, just what I figure is a collectible.
