2 48+ pound copper & brass busbars for art value

I know a guy that has 2 large copper busbars with many brass threaded plugs that are for clamping down on the wires you hook up to them.

They weigh about 48 pounds each. He has had them for awhile and they are all shinny and cool looking. I have wanted them for years but he didn't want to let go of them as he liked them.

Well he offered to sell them to me as he needs the cash. He want's $500.00 for the pair. That is over $5.00 a pound and there is the brass that is less value then the copper. The brass plugs can be removed if wanted easy enough. I want them for their art value mostly as I like the way that they look.

I offered him $350.00 for them.

I feel that is a very fair offer considering these times of economic collapse and what the near future may have in store.

    What do you think?
