    Campbell Hausfield Power Pal AC

Just picked this up last Thursday and got around to checking it out today, the only thing wrong with it is the auto switch doesn't work!!!

Holy cow! great find! this is gonna be great for just filling tires and using my air tools or filling the tank and taking it somewhere else to fill tractor tires!!

dang. I'll have to see if I can get a new/used working gauge!!

    New,

If it does turn out that this particular model is not made anymore and you can't get parts, don't give up. You can get generic pressure switches to operate the compressor. You can also buy generic pressure gauges. It might not look quite as streamlined as it is now but will be just as usable.

The one safety detail you need to verify that works on any compressor is the safety pressure relief valve. It usually looks like a little brass valve with a ring or lever on it that you can operate to ensure it will open if the pressure ever gets above a safe level. If you operate it and it blows air and stops blowing air when you let it go it probably is OK. There's a spring inside that holds the valve shut until the pressure rises too high.

    Jon.

Oh gosh; my weakness is air compressors. That was a good find and yes, I can't believe what people throw away when it comes to ACs. Tank leaks....pitch it (everything else is good). Pump locks up...pitch it. I've got 16 compressors with varied minor problems and can't find the time to work on them all. I had to pass one up today as my pickup was acting up at the scrapyard. I hope it's still there tomorrow.

    Awesome find NA.
flip it up and inspect the bottom. this is where water will settle causing weak points in the tank but from the picture it looks to be in great condition
I see you are having fun with those projection lenses too hehe
    careful... careful... Doh!!!
