You don't have a bailer for all that stuff?
You don't have a bailer for all that stuff?
1500 hunny per month I would have laughed at them you can buy them for 25,000. Are you locked into a contract with the current gas provider or just a verbal commitment? My tank costs 650 per month and I think that's even a rip off. I can't wait to dump my oxygen company in 4 1/2 years. A penny in your pocket is a penny in your pocket. Three cylinders is still 13500 cubic feet of product a week which isn't bad at all for a small guy who can get bigger. Getting bigger means more product used which is win for you and win for the gas company to. I would call praxair, airgas, or whoever is the largest supplier in your area and get a price. Product should be around a 1.00 a hundred for you. Here is the great part your current supplier is filling those 160's off there bulk tank and then delivering it to you and you are being charged to fill them which is labor then delivery so whoever fills there tank I would call but that's just me. I would cut there throat and leave em lying dead.

Pistone id hate to get into a conversation with ya in real life when i had to pee. Just sayin.
lol hoss.. Ya pistone there are 2 major companies here that I deal with. One being praxair. I don't know how big the tank was for 1500/month lease. Right now I usually only take 1 tank at a time and they only deliver once a week so I have to swap it in myself (45min drive) which is one of the main reasons I wanted a micro bulk or small bulk. How long will a bulk go without bleeding off? And on the liquids here, you don't need a contract but they are usually 225/tank plus $1 a day rent. I got them beat down on the price and had to take a year lease at $100 so I wouldn't have the $1 a day. And the company I use right now doesnt even have a local place to fill.. they ship them 2 hrs away. If I had a bulk could I fill as well?
Hoss honestly I am not that bad I just speak my mind and sometimes people get there feelings hurt. Tuff that's life. 225 a tank is a rip off but then again I don't know where in Canada you are at or how far away you are from a fill plant but honestly that shouldn't matter how far away you are. You should still get cheap product they would just bang you on the trucking at probably 125.00 an hour or more. You could get a 1500 gallon tank and you probably wouldn't lose any product at all. You only lose product when the tank sits for long periods of times with zero product being used or when its 85 degrees out or more and you haven't used it for a week or so. I don't think you would have either of those problems in Canada. The rent on a tank that size should be around 500 bucks or less. Yes you can fill those 160 liter tanks off your bulk tank and if you look on ebay or just use google you can find those small liquid tanks for sale cheap and I mean cheap. You would just have to buy the 10 foot stainless braided hose and fill it off your bulk tank. So that tank you are paying 225 for would now cost 50 or 60 bucks to fill if that. Now you have two advantages you can cut wherever in your yard you want to and you don't have to ever worry about running out of product or your burners ever having to put there torch down. Continuous burning and turning your cut material as fast as possible is the name of the game. The gas company should also put a satellite tracking system on your tank to so you never have to call to get it filled once it gets so low they just put you on the schedule and boom the truck shows up and tops you off. It works the same way with my bulk propane tank once it hits the redline they come out and fill it. Its pretty sweet because its less time I am on the phone.

So, say it was 500 per month.. what would the oxygen cost?
Not knowing your area but I would imagine under a dollar a 100 cubic feet. So if you had a 1500 gallon tank that would hold approx 175,000 cubic feet. So 1750 dollars or less to fill it. and that is equivalent to you buying 39 160 liter tanks if my math is correct on that. I doubt you would need a 1500 gallon tank but you get the point its a hell of a savings over buying those 160 liter dewars. The oxygen company should be able to right size your tank if you have a smart enough salesman. Let me know how it turns out and if you need anymore pointers just feel free to give me a shout.
Ya that is a savings of like 3000.. I will check into it now, Thanks. The only other question is.. I was told in the mill specs that my cast couldn't contain ANY steel.. is that true or with they take rotors with studs in them and heads with springs.. so on? I know in the specs sometimes they are over picky from what they actually take. The new guy always gets the tough rules

Thats a very nice yard, excuse my ignorance but is a burning field used to burn tires and material(cars, seats, etc) to get it down to bare metal?
I know you have to get a new pair of shoes about every 2 weeks walking around there.

As a scrap yard owner myself, you can go as big as your wallet will let you.
So true mbmetals. how big is your yard?
nope, no baler. I have to hire out. In my area and the competition at its best.. Its nearly impossible to sink the money needed and come out ahead. I can bale every 2 weeks lately. Like right now I need baled before the price dumps again and no one will touch it. and just baled 2 weeks ago.. and 2 weeks before that.
What kind of baler were you looking at?
I've ran a sierra in my yard.. worked great. I have had an overbuilt in as well. and a little mini baler on tracks that was remote control.. its so frankensteined that I don't know the original make. Have also looked at some aljon 400 and colmar and stuff online. After just reading your profile.. you make them? and pics?
Yeah i build all different types of scrap processing equipment. My machines are smaller and not near as expensive as the al-jons and stuff
I've looked at lots, priced a few.. way out of my league for new. and used is quite a lot for a wore out machine that isn't going to make a killing to begin with.
any pics/vids?
