Prices for scrap lead acid batteries in China (or overseas)

    Hello all,

I have the oppurtunity to get in the scrap battery business and was interested to find out how much scrap lead acid batteries are selling in China and other countries overseas. If anyone has any information or could point me in the right direction, your help or opinion would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Welcome to the forum.

I see you made two posts both the same subject in separate threads.

If you expect people to work with you it would be best to not come off like a spammer.

Duplicate thread was deleted and this one moved.

seauatthetop, your post was deleted. You need to make a separate thread for your question.

Hello, if you want the people on this forum to take you seriously, I would suggest you put a post in the introduction thread. Coming onto the forum and asking questions like this without the proper introduction usually rub people the wrong way.

    Good luck in your quest.

My apologies guys. I definitely did not mean to come off as a spammer. I set up two separate threads because I wasn't sure which one would fit best. Anyways, I took some advice and formally introduced myself in the intro forum.

To recap my intro, like I stated in my first post, I have been given the opportunity to join a scrap battery business and from what has been explained to me, scrap batteries are selling about double of what they are here in the US. I'm not sure if true or not, but I stumbled across this forum when seeking information.

If anyone is aware of this being true or not, your thoughts and opinions are welcome and appreciated.

Again, thanks for having me on board and I look forward to learning a few things from you guys that I'm sure are definitely more knowledgeable about this business than myself.

    Thanks,

AFAIK lead acid batteries are reprocessed here or in Mexico. The shipping expense to Mexico is lower than to China.

Read this recent New York Times article on battery recycling for more information:
