    Safety Reminder

Angle grinder cutoff disc exploded on me today. Destroyed one of the lenses on my safety glasses. Very glad I had them on. Would easily have been my right eye.

Just a friendly reminder to never slack on safety.

When I worked in a camper factory, our frame guy always cleaned up his welds with an angle grinder, kind of a high speed one. One day the disc exploded on him and a piece hit him in the forehead and split it wide open. I heard him hollar at me and I turned around to him with blood streaming down his face( kinda like WWF Wrestling) and him standing there in a daze. It took 23 stitches to close it. Be very careful around them,,, Play safe kids,,,

I've only had one explode, and it was on an 18,000 rpm pneumatic. Wheel was rated for 20k, but whatever..it exploded.

Did not feel good when it hit.

Good reminder. I don't always wear safety gear.

****, I have been smacked in the face with a paper 80 grit sanding disk flying off a DA, and that hurt! I couldn't imagine a cut off disk breaking, OUCH! Would be an under statement I think.
