    Dumpster Finds.....

What are some of yall cool, interesting, expesive, or rediculous dumpster finds?

For me, I have found brand new '07 dodge charger tail lights in box, a $5000 walkie talkie system nearly complete, a couple working flat screen monitors...My list could go for miles.

    What about yours?

There's a dumpster I dive just outside the fence of a car dealership. The dealership loads a truck up a couple of times a day and dumps parts in the dumpster. Very often I find brand new Rockford Fosgate 10" speakers. When someone upgrades, they just put the stock speakers in the box the new ones come in and throw them away.

I found a new looking white microwave in a brand new box for a black micro.....apparently the white one didn't match their decor...it works perfectly and it's very clean...even the chord looks clean and new. Should bring $30 at the flea market.

I've found working halogen work lights, like Dee brand new microwaves. I'm wearing my favorite find ever, a brand new in the box fossil watch. I pull "non-working" LCD and plasma TV's out the trash all the time. Most of the time it's simple easy solder fixes. I find sunglasses all the time. You'd be surprised how fast a pair of scratched Oakleys sell.

I find that alot and sell them in yard sales. Yesterday I found a dumpster with a bunch of solid brass stantions (those velvet rope poles they have in movie theaters) in it. Each one was like 10 pounds. I have pulled some insanely valuable things out of dumpsters. Do a search on my threads to read about the plasma TV bases (that one netted me about $1,200). I am sitting on a dollar bill changer that came from a dumpster right now.

Oh man, I've found some insanely cool stuff in dumpsters.

Hubcaps to cars, all the time. That's fun.
    Working Dishwashers.
    Working push mowers.
Brand New Size 13 Timberlands (Wearing them now)
    Coach and Prada Purses
DVD players (All the time. Usually just need cleaned)
    13-19 inch tube TV's
    Sleep Number Bed
Antique Silverware (1847 Rogers Bros Silver)
Surround Sound Systems (5 So Far)
Computers (Mostly intact, one I'm still using to watch Hulu)
Allen Bradley Automation Equipment (I made 600 off that)
Turkish Imported Rug (Sold for 170 at auction)
    Hundreds of working Vacuums
    Cell phones Galore

I don't really have an all time favorite. I've made bank off what I've found though. If I had to pick it would probably be the couch in my shop, it's one of those overstuffed black leather gigolo couches. I take naps on it all the time LOL.

I remember once when I was young, me and my brother jumped into a dumpster behind Kmart and found a Hot AIr Popcorn popper, perfect condition. (Back when they Were new to the market) Had lots of healthy popcorn after that.. We were not into scrapping, just doing what boys do.

I just found a few hundred refundable bottles in a dumpster. Someone didn't take the time to clean the massive amount of dirt from the flood off them and just dumped them.

A couple years ago when I was still in college all sorts of stuff would get thrown away the last week of school. The apartment complex I lived in only had one dumpster so I would keep an eye on it and found some great stuff. Probably close to $1000 in textbooks that I resold, a vacuum and a large fan both that I still use to this day, and many other things. But the craziest thing I ever found was a backpack. I had took some stuff down to the dumpster and it was just starting to rain so I was in a hurry but saw a bookbag right on top of the pile and it looked full. I always found lots of textbooks in bookbags so I quickly checked the outer pocket and found that it was FULL of quarters. Sweet! So I just grabbed the whole thing and carried it up to my apartment rather than let it get any more wet.

I lived with my girlfriend and when I came back in I called her and said come check out what I found... she comes out and I show her the quarters and she is excited to see what else is in the bag. So we unzip the main compartment together, and it is filled with about 40 porn DVDs and a vibrator. She was not very happy with my find.
