Thought I would post an Update/Result
Client wanted $20 for this set of boxes.
Results:
46 lbs of #2 copper @ $1.80/lb = $82.80
Epoxy Tantalum = 4.0375 lbs $18.00 lb = $72.68
Total of $155.48
Reason it went to scrap was that.. well tantalum pays far more in scrap than "re-use" and I was told by numerous people that with being as old as the resistors are- they may/could/probably are bad.
Quick and dirty.
I had taken 29 of the 46 lbs to my R2 facility- they have a "chopper" and I wanted to see if they would run it and work a deal with the "output"
Because it was "Tin plated Copper" they feared that it would still mingle in with their normal shiny copper output and they would mess up their whole load too. So my guy went to work trying to find a buyer- best price he came up with.. .19 cents a lb.
I ran my third bucket I had filled with this stuff to my local recycling place and he would buy it as #2 copper. Easy decision!
