you never know what your going to find

Today, being my day off from my full time job, is the day I go to sell my load. I have a couple forest preserves that I stop at on my way into the yard to pick up mostly cans and some other metals that sometimes contractors throw away there rather than bring it back to their shop. My competition arrived at about the same time(nice old guy who collects cans to keep busy) so I decided to expand my horizons and walk a little further to see what I could find and to my surprise I come across $100 bill just lying on the side of the road waiting for me to pick it up. Plus my load was $57 which for me is pretty good because I only have about 10-15 hours a week spare time to dedicate to my hobby but boy how I love it. Take care everyone.

Wow! I'm absolutely thrilled when I find even a $5 bill on the ground...let alone a Benjamin! Good eye!

Don't forget to check discarded cigarette boxes for goodies. Just be sure to not pick it up off the ground, to ensure that you don't accused of littering

On thursday this week i found a $10 note lying on the ground, and earlier this year when i was out going through a council hard rubbish collection i found $25 a $20 dollar note and a $5 note
near some shops in the local shopping center and believe it or not there was also a garbage skip just up from where i found the money and i found a brass tap and some other little
goodies pipes etc. I just wish this thing would happen more often but you cant win win win all the time.

I found a NZ$20 note in a empty wallet in a dumpster a while ago. That really suprised me, I would think anyone chucking out a wallet would have checked it first.
I'd almost come to the conclusion there would never be any money in a thrown or wallet or purse.

A few weeks later, in the same bin, I find 20 litres of mag wheel cleaner.
    WOW! Thats a great find!
I check the small print on the side of the container & find its a 5% solution of Hydrofluoric acid.

    Oh ****,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrofluoric_acidFr Aqueous hydrofluoric acid is a contact-poison with the potential for deep, initially painless burns and ensuing tissue death. By interfering with body calcium metabolism, the concentrated acid may also cause systemic toxicity and eventual cardiac arrest and fatality, after contact with as little as 160 cm2 (25 square inches) of skin.

There was a bike chained up to a pole near my house for like 4 months. It was pretty heavy but unfortunately it wasn't aluminium the tires were gone, but almost everything else was there. Well one evening the bike wasn't there anymore. Someone had taken the effort to cut the chain, but then the bike gets found nearby, like I dunno why someone would do that but hey, I'm glad they did.

maybe they were tired of tripping over it every time they came home, and wanted it out of their way ; )

Trot, 10 years sober here, BUT I used to meet the bartender when he opened. Place was a dive so they never vaccuumed. I averaged about $4 in change every time I was this early. Also found a wedding band in there once.

I found a 50 dollar bill on the ground outside a venue during a concert. Must have been loose in someone's pocket when they reached in. Be careful picking up money on the ground though, my friends mother almost picked up a bill someone wiped with.

Yrs ago walked into groc store and literally stepped on a $100 bill. I let CS know I found money (didnt tell denomination), and left my name and number. Put the money in a drawer over a month and checked at the store each visit for a cple of mths. Ended up keeping the money. Also found $50 by my car (no, I didnt have that amt. with me) when leaving a yard sale once. It's not uncommon to find coins left in yard sale piggy banks, purses, bottom of boxes, etc. from yard sales.

For me doesnt matter the amt., though the $100 was a bonus!! I just like finding the un expected!
