    older wieght bench

    there is someone in the area that is giving away a weight bench, looks to be a nice one, mostly iron and maybe 200-250lbs in wieghts. what is something that worth scrapped? thank you for all who respond in advance

    Best way to find out is to call your local scrap yard.

    The weight bench I had as a kid was concrete weights in plastic. make sure they are the metal weights. If they are, they may be worth more to someone as weights than scrap.

    Around here I get 8 bucks per hundred for steel. Others may get up to 12.

    We are getting $12 per 100lb for regular steel.
    You would on;y be talking an avg of $24 scrapping, SO I would suggest you trying to sell it outright to someone first. A decent Weight bench and weights should get more than that.
