Trips into this yard are limited at this point, but they still treat me well. More importantly, my son has taken over my previous business and reports he goes to the front of the line, gets extra help unloading, and everyone treats him as royalty. As far as value amount of a load, more than I deserve.
I really like what you said here patriot. I read this whole forum and never thought of that. When I first started I didn't really know what I was doing and they were really kind to me and helped me learn what I know today. I have been blessed enough to be able to expand what was once a hobby into an enterprise that supports myself and my family. I give the guys at my yard beer (hopefully to be drank after hours) and cigarettes as well as some extra coin at Christmas being that I am in there almost every day and with the contracts and things that I have I average $2000 a trip. (But I also buy my metal so that isn't all profit) ((I wish it was lol))

Just made my largest ewaste shipment ever a few weeks ago. 4 pallets, almost 4000 lbs in total. Mostly motherboards, finger cards, laptops, cellphones, etc. About $9000 received after the shipping costs were deducted. The nice thing was that it only took about 6-8 weeks to accumulate this material. With the lower prices there is a lot less competition.

Nice $2.25 a pound average after shipping, looks like you did good

Just had my best this week. $187 for 1 run. It was a mix of #1/#2 copper, batteries, insulated copper wire, alum/cu rads, light iron and BRASS. Brass made up $100 of it. Was a pretty good day.

(talking about local scrap runs only, my best e-waste load was a pallet and around $1100, and my best MTSV load was around $1600)
