    Welding tanks

I picked up 2 welding tanks in the Spring cleaning and wondered if there was a market for these? I already called Reliance and they were not interested. Any ideas? Keep in mind that I am in Ohio.

People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Oxygen tanks ? Or accetylene ? Either way yes ! A pic would help out here, but depending on size Probadly 100-200 each would be a fast seller

Those tanks should be stamped around the top with a company name and serial numbers and are property of the distributor or gas company just like beer kegs.
I have a bill of sale and a certificate of ownership just like a title for mine even though I just exchange them for full ones.
Most people just lease the tanks I prefer to own mine, the cost of new tanks has tripled to $300 since 1985 when I bought mine.
I just priced a full sized Argon tank from my supplier $380 for the tank and gas.
I have been told by my supplier that the various gas companies actively return each others tanks as they have to be inspected, tested and serviced on a regular basis before refilling.

The differences in dealing with refilling the tanks in various areas are interesting. In my province, the bottles are only refilled by the company that has their name stamped into the bottle. If a company's name isn't on the bottle, they won't even look at it. Leasing a set of bottles runs around $300 for the year, while buying a set runs around $1000 or so. That's down from over $1600 about 10 years ago. I'd -love- to be able to buy some cheap used bottles and get them refilled at the place of my choice, but it just doesn't happen like that here.

All high pressure bottles, oxy, nitrogen, CO2 etc will have a date stamped on them, IIRC they can only be refilled for 10 years from that date, past that date they need to be hydrostaticlly tested to make sure they can still safely hold pressure. If it has a company name stamped on the collar you are pretty much SOL.
