I have been saving good tubing from my scrap runs since my dad and I use the metal for welding projects. Well here is my first project. I built a custom headache rack for my truck. The tube is from a handrail from stairs the lights I was given, in the grate I have salvaged from several other projects. The lights will be run from the cab lights so its not always on. By doing this I am able to work in my pickup bed at night, allowing me to sort for scrap runs after auctions.

Are you going to make the protection rails for down each side of the box? I find the rails make great tie-down points for holding down stuff in the box.

I was looking at doing the rails down the side but didnt jave enough rail so I am looking at just getting the hideaway tie down points halfway down the bed. But I have been getting by with just the stake slots at the front and back since its a short bed, and the rails only halfway cover the stake holes at the front of the bed.

This was a school project for english, we had to build a creature representing the one in Frankenstein since that is what we are reading from the first semester. Made entirely out of scrap metal laying around in the garage. And a couple of power supplies as feet just for weight to make it stand up.
