Selling My Home Electronics On Craigslist, Opinions?

    Hey Guys,

I've accumulated alot of consumer electronics. Thought I would try the craigslst way first. Do you think the price is reasonable?

Wish i had a good ol vhs player, can't count the ones I've bought at yard sales for $2-$3 each, only to try and try and maybe strip out a few tapes before determining it's just another piece of junk! If I were you I'd test the ones that maybe worth keeping for your own use, and toss the rest in the shred pile... uhmm, is that your phone ringing? lol

I would recommend removing the part about how you got them for free.

Ipods have made much of this stuff obsolete thus making it tough to sell on Clist, garage sales or where ever. Unless it is vintage and prized by audiophiles, scrap is what you got there for the most part.

YUP, break them down and get what you can. Low grade boards, electric motors, transformers, insulated copper and shred. my .02

We will see how it goes, but you guys might be right about it being shred. I hate to see these things go to shred though. Maybe I'm just too old, but I thought this stuff would be great for someone who held on to their old LPs, Tapes, VHS, etc. There's even a nice DJ Mixer in the lot.

Stereos and mixers might be worth separating, and trying to sell separately. The old vcr's and dvd's are likely junkers, unless you wanna test them

Haha, I got 3 back up VHS players and 2 dvd players. My collection of VHS movies is just to big for me to give up. Yes yes, ipods, ipads..whatever. I enjoy a big screen not some tiny lil thing i have to squint at or charge every 3 hours. Bleh I say! Bleh!

I know my local craigslist there is a guy who buys old audio stuff. Stereos, record players, old school radio/cabinet combos, etc. Maybe you'll have a similar guy. Or run into someone like me who doesn't enjoy a small screen, nor wants to replace his entire movie collection with dvds when his tapes still work just fine.

    Either way good luck!

Sirscrapalot - Rather proud of his VHS collection.
