Old Kid's Bikes?

You obviously never rode a Mid 70's Huffy my friend. If you had one of those when you were a kid you were riding in style. Big soft fat banana seat,cool racing number on handle bars and motocross fenders over the wheels. That was the birth of the bmx bike. The name escapes me sorry. And they got even cooler when they came out with one that had a shock absorber in the middle of the frame. The only thing cooler was if you had a denim jacket with a painting of Led Zep or ac/dc on the back...lol

Ive been thinking about this. Ive been saving the bikes i pickup, kids and adult bikes, lately. I already have 10 saved and i was thinking about saving like 20 bikes and advertising all 20 together to someone that fixes bikes.

Or the one with the 5 speed stick shift was oh so cool.

I too remember spending hours back in the day when the only thing you bought new was the (BMX) handle bars and everything else was scavenged from other bikes in the garage. Huffy was always one of the main donors.

Unfortunately, those are Walmart bikes, which have the lowest resale value. Around me, if they were immaculate, I'd probably start at $50, and settle for $25-30 if they were setting for a long time. The problem with trying to sell that type of bike is that a person will see it and think to themselves, "I can buy a used one for $50, or a new one for $10 or $20 more." You could try to push them right before Christmas, and if you have no luck, try again right after (when kids have a pocket full of gift money). The brand "Next" is a hard sell, unless you're willing to let it go for a super low price.

My experience in Michigan is that used bikes, unless they are something special, sell for 10-20 bucks. I can pick them up all day long at garage sales for under $20.00. You would THINK there would be some money in them considering what they cost new.

That does sound like a Dunlop valve. Very uncommon.

Typically, a bike set up with a dynamo lighting system is meant to be used as a tourer or heavy-duty commuter. A good wheel/dynamo hub combination can be very expensive, even used. I encourage you to check ebay and online bike parts places. Easily over $100 for a single wheel, used. Strange that it would be used on a boy's bike. Unless it was originally owned by a short adult, maybe?

It may be nothing, but it's possible that you may have something kind of cool. I would very much love to see some pictures, or at least a brand/model name.

Garage sales are the last good place to buy bikes. Craigslist, ebay, and even Goodwill are all super inflated nowadays.
