    I`ve been a plumber for 12 years so I `ve been scraping brass and copper for that long but I never scrapped any steel or water heaters we just always left them by the dumpster in the shop and some guys took them . With the economy going to hell I`m looking to make some extra money and i plan on scrapping every piece of metal I can get my hands on. I`m setting my garage up with a work bench to take apart electric motors and such .

    Just get you some totes or banana boxes to hold the smaller stuff and break it all down to it's individual components.

    Can you mix all steel together ? galvanized , black , tin ???

    Yes you can unless you have a large quantity of thick scrap cut down to 2 or 3 foot lengths. That will usually get you top steel price.
